সহজ ভাষায়, Police Verification হলো চাকরির জন্য selected/provisionally selected candidate-এর background বা antecedent যাচাই করার একটি সরকারি process।
এখানে সাধারণত দেখা হতে পারে:
- Candidate-এর নাম ও পরিচয়
- Permanent ও present address
- ঠিকানা সংক্রান্ত তথ্য
- Criminal antecedent
- Court case বা criminal record সম্পর্কিত তথ্য
- Candidate verification form-এ দেওয়া তথ্য
- প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী অন্য relevant background information
কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারি চাকরিতে Character and Antecedents Verification-এর জন্য DoPT-এর আলাদা নির্দেশনা রয়েছে।
Character Verification ও Police Verification কি একই?
দুটি term অনেক সময় একই context-এ ব্যবহার করা হলেও technically কিছুটা difference আছে।
Character Verification বলতে candidate-এর character বা conduct সম্পর্কে verification বোঝানো হয়।
অন্যদিকে Antecedent Verification-এ candidate-এর অতীত record/background সম্পর্কে তথ্য যাচাই করা হয়।
Police authority এই verification process-এর একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ হতে পারে। তাই Government Job-এর ক্ষেত্রে আপনি Character Verification, Antecedent Verification, Police Verification—এই তিনটি term দেখতে পারেন।
Government Job-এ Police Verification কেন হয়?

Candidate-এর নাম, বাবা-মায়ের নাম এবং অন্যান্য identification details মিলিয়ে দেখা হতে পারে।

Police Verification Form কী?
অনেক Government recruitment-এ selected বা provisionally selected candidate-কে Verification Roll / Character Verification Form / Attestation Form পূরণ করতে হয়।

Police Verification-এর সময় কি পুলিশ বাড়িতে আসে?
সব ক্ষেত্রে পুলিশ বাড়িতে আসবেই—এমন universal rule নেই।
Verification-এর nature এবং local procedure অনুযায়ী authority records, submitted information বা address verification-এর মাধ্যমে process complete করতে পারে।
কোনও ক্ষেত্রে local police station থেকে address-related verification হতে পারে, আবার কোনও recruitment-এ department-এর prescribed verification mechanism অনুসরণ করা হয়।
তাই “Police বাড়িতে না এলে verification হয়নি”—এই ধারণা ঠিক নয়।
FIR বা Criminal Case থাকলে Government Job হবে?

Police Verification-এ Address কেন এত Important?
অনেক candidate application form-এ এক address দিয়ে পরে অন্য জায়গায় চলে যান। ফলে verification-এর সময় confusion তৈরি হতে পারে।

- Permanent address

- Previous address
- Police station
- District
এসব তথ্য যেখানে চাওয়া হয়েছে, সেখানে carefully এবং consistently দেওয়া উচিত।

তাই Police Verification চলছে মানেই joining হবে না—এমনও নয়। Appointment letter-এ দেওয়া conditions সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
Police Verification-এর পরে কি সরাসরি Joining হয়?
সাধারণ Government Job process অনেকটা এরকম হতে পারে:
Written Exam → Result → Interview/Skill Test → Document Verification → Medical Examination → Character/Antecedent Verification → Appointment/Joining
তবে সব recruitment-এ একই sequence থাকবে না।
কোনও department verification আগে করতে পারে, আবার কোথাও provisional appointment দিয়ে পরে verification complete হতে পারে।

Police Verification-এর আগে Candidate-এর কী করা উচিত?
1. Application Form আবার Check করুন
আপনি application-এ কী address, name, DOB বা অন্যান্য information দিয়েছিলেন, তা দেখে রাখুন।
2. Address Details Ready রাখুন
Present এবং permanent address-এর details সহজে পাওয়া যায় এমনভাবে রাখুন।
3. Documents Organised রাখুন
সব original ও relevant photocopy/scan copy organised রাখুন।
4. Verification Form Carefully Fill করুন

Government-এর Digital Police ecosystem-এর উদ্দেশ্যের মধ্যে police records এবং verification-related services-এর digitalisation রয়েছে।
